Rocky Mountain Power Foundation grant supports the Boys and Girls Club

PROVO, Utah — The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has awarded a $14,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Utah County to help support the club’s Power Hour program, a comprehensive homework help and tutoring program designed to raise the academic proficiency of children ages six to12.

The Boys & Girls Club of Utah County serves children and supports public education initiatives in the Alpine, Nebo and Provo school districts. The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation grant will support the club’s initiative to serve more than 2,000 children from kindergarten to grade 8.

"Power Hour is an excellent program that is provided to kids at a time of day when statistically they are at risk, and we are pleased to be able to support the Boys & Girls Club of Utah County deliver this program," said Delynn Rodeback, Rocky Mountain Power customer and community manager.

"With pressure on students to succeed on national testing, this program will provide extra instruction to struggling students of each school in our after-school program, which will help us to solidify the partnership we have built with students, educators, parents and the community," said Weston Parsons, executive director, Boys & Girls Club of Utah County.
